A study on the effect of azotobacter culture and phosphorus levels on grain yield and test weight of sorghum sorghum bicolor linn moench cultivar csh 5

The field experiment on sorghum was carried out at Allahabad Agricultural Institute, Research Farm, Allanhabad, U.P. India, during rainy season 1983, with and without Azotobacter culture fertilized with four doses of phosphorus (i.e. 0, 20, 40 and 60 Kg. P2O5/ha), and the experiment was laid out in a two factor factorial randomised block design with four replications. The results expounded significant increase in the grain yield from Azotobacter inoculation and applied phosphorus @ 60 Kg/ha, by 20.86% and 74.8% over control. The positive increase in test weight of grains was also noticed.
