A survey of domestic container breeding mosquitoes in new south wales australia for the presence of aedes aegypti the vector of dengue fever

Between January and April 1984, a comprehensive survey of New South Wales was undertaken to determine whether Aedes aegypti the vector of dengue fever in Australia, was present. No Ae aegypti larvae occurred in the 3930 samples collected, and it appears that the species is not present in N.S.W., thus the state is not currently receptive to the introduction of dengue fever or yellow fever.
