A survey of hemipterous insects from mt. yulong yunnan province china i



Entomotaxonomia 9(3): 217-225



One species of Scutelleridae and 19 species of Pentatomidae are reported in this paper as a result of a survey in Mt. Yulong, Yunnan Prov. of China. Biological notes of some of these species are provided; comments concerning faunistic composition, origin, its relationships with climatic conditions are discussed. Three new species and a new subspecies are described as follows: Irochrotus lobatus Zheng et Liu, sp. nov., closely allied to I. indicus Schoutenden, and to I. incisus Stal; Pentatoma montana yulongica Zheng et Ling. ssp. nov.; Menida mosaica Zheng et Liu, sp. nov., closely allied to M. scotti Puton; Menida pinicola Zhegn et Liu, sp. nov., collected from Pinus spp., separated from other species by the rather flat body form, characteristic coloration and hairy antero-lateral pronotal margin.
