Acid-resistant, unicellular algal microfossils of the form genus Tetraporina Naumova from an Upper Cretaceous clay deposit in the Kristianstad area, southern Sweden, are treated. The botanical affinities of Tetraporina are discussed in comparison with modern algae. The generic diagnosis of Tetraporina is emended. Ten new spp. are described: Tetraporina villandica, T. pulvinula, T. scanica, T. mammillata, T. spinifera, T. verruculosa, T. diagonalis, T. vesiculata, T. foveolata and T. denticulata.
