An amphotericin b producing organism streptomyces nodosus strain as 4.1006

A strain of Streptomyces producing antifungal antibiotics was isolated from a soil sample collected from the southwest of China. Its morphological, cultural characteristics and physiological properties were studied. After identification, this strain was designated as S. nodosus AS 4.1006. S. nodosus AS 4.1006 produced 2 antibiotics. Its physical and chemical properties and the biological activities, showed that the major one is identical with amphotericin B.
