An attempt to determine the influence of vitamin a plus vitamin d 3 on the reproduction of sows

The examinations were carried out on 21 sows, 7-8 months old, divided into three groups on the basis of the quantity of injectable vit. A+D3. Group I received 2,100,000 IU of vit. A plus 700,000 IU of vit. D3, group II-1,200,000 plus 400,000 IU respectively, and group III-served as a control. It was found that the addition of vit. A+D3 at the day of covering and in the course of pregnancy influenced significantly the weight gains of piglets born, and the number of piglets brought up, and a decrease of the death rate during breeding.
