An investigation into the effect of plant density and time of harvest on yields of brussels sprouts



Journal of the National Institute of Agricultural Botany 15(3): 488-496



In a single experiment in 1980 yields of sprouts in 2 size grades from 3 different plant densities were assessed throughout the growing season. The patterns of yields obtained are discussed in relation to optimizing returns. In 1980 high densities delayed the maturity of sprouts. Yields continued to increase generally throughout the experiment and it was not possible to define a date of optimum harvest.
