Studies on cytogenetic effects of ETU [ethylene thiourea] (one of the metabolites and degradation products of fungicide Zineb) and anti-tumor drug ftorafur (which is used as a positive control) in the culture of human peripheral lymphocytes established that ETU is a weak mutagen for somatic human cells and lymphocytes of a practically healthy donor which possess a relatively low sensitivity to the clastogenic action of ftorafur.
