The analysis of 1,061 individuals in May-Sep. 1977-1982 has shown that 6.24% of Acipenser gueldenstaedti females spawned prior to the flow regulation and 73.3% of male spawners appeared under changed hydrological conditions. The weight loss in spent males and females during the migration and reproduction period averaged 21.4%. The condition factor of males and females remained stable, which is indicative of an adequate food availability in the feeding grounds at sea. Males constituted 63.6% of the spawning stock.
