Preliminary results of studies on a representative group of functional derivatives of 3-methoxy-1,2-benzisothiazol-5-ylacetic acid are reported. Particularly, the synthesis and the most significant biological data related to antiphlogistic, analgesic properties and to auxin-like activity [Pisum sativum] are described. Some of the compounds are active as antiphologistic and analgesic agents. [Rats were used.] By contrast, the substances show insignificant auxin-like activity.
