The beginning and duration of crown rust infection of Rhamnus catharticus were not constant in Lithuania, USSR, in different years. The dispersion usually occurred on the first 10 days of June, and ended on the last days of the month. Wind strength and precipitation influenced aecidiospore dispersion intensity. Intense wind was followed by intense aecidiospore dispersion. With a prolonged precipitation period the aecidiospore concentration in the air was considerably lower as well as the number of landed spores. Calendar dates of maximum dispersion did not coincide during different years.
