Clinical study on male sexual dysfunction report 4. classification of impotence by the japanese society for impotence research

Nishinihon Journal of Urology 48(3): 791-794

Patients with impotence diagnosed over the past two years were classified according to the classification for impotence by the Japanese Society for Impotence Research (JSIR). The JSIR clasification system for impotence is a good system which can be directly applied to therapy. However, since this classification system is premised on an objective differential diagnostic examination, it has been impossible to classify about 1/4 of all impotency patients. In addition, with regard to the erectile function test which serves as the basis of classification, no standard method has yet been established. It is thus necessary to establish a better method for this test and practical diagnostic criteria at the earliest possible date.
