Comparative cyto genetic studies of deschampsia caespitosa and anthoxanthum alpinum in primary and secondary communities of the carpathian mountains ukrainian ssr ussr

The cenopopulations of D. caespitosa, a species with wide ecological amplitude, were genetically less variable than those of A. alpinum of narrow ecological amplitude. The presence of chromosome biotypes increasing the D. caespitosa plasticity, the high level of natural structural variability, and considerable asymmetry of chromosome provide all preconditions for the increase in their activity, better exploitation of the environmental resources and new habitats.
