Comparative performance of ratooning vs. planting of sorghum hybrids and cultivar maldandi 35 1 under rainfed conditions

The comparative performance of ratooning vs. planting of sorghum hybrids and M. 35-1 [cv. Maldandi 35-1] was carried out for 3 successive seasons. The ratoon grain yield of 'CSH-5' and 'CSH-6' hybrids was significantly more than 'CSH-1' during the year 1977-1978; planting of sorghum hybrids out yielded over the ratooning during the year 1979-1980. The fodder yield was increased with the M.35-1 during all 3 seasons and when data were pooled.
