Compost filters for odor elimination at sewage treatment works

Compost filters are very successful for odor elimination at sewage treatment works. They can handle large air flows with low concentrations of malodorous substances. The operation experiences are very satisfactory. Only a minimum of supervision and maintenance of the filter is necessary. The investment operation costs for a compost filter are considerably lower than for a scrubber plant of corresponding capacity.
