Control of face fly musca autumnalis larval development in bovine feces with daily injections of the ivermectin mk 933

MK-933 (ivermectin) injected into cattle daily for 45 days at 5.0, 10.0 and 20 .mu.g/kg body wt (BW) resulted in 100% mortality of face fly larvae, M. autumnalis DeGeer, developing in feces sampled 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after initiation of the treatments (day 0). Daily injections of MK-933 at 2.5 .mu.g/kg BW resulted in mortality ranging between 85.83-99.16% on identical sampling days. Percent mortality for the 2.5 and 5.0 .mu.g/kg dosages declined after the final injection (day 45), giving 45.83 and 73.33% mortality, respectively, for flies developing in feces sampled on day 49.
