Control of transcription termination: a rho-dependent termination site in bacteriophage lambda

Control of transcription termination: a rho-dependent termination site in bacteriophage lambda

Journal of Molecular Biology 138(2): 231-254

Regulation of gene expression within the bacteriophage.lambda. genome is controlled, in part, by transcriptional termination and anti-termination mechanisms (i.e., attenuation). A discrete site, tR1, in the y region of.lambda. at which transcription termination occurs in vivo is defined. This termination site and the factors which regulate termination at this site in vivo are examined and compared with the previously described in vitro termination reaction.
