Fungi namely, Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, A. fumigatus, Rhizopus stolonifer, Mucor spp; fusarium moniliforme var. feroglutinans, F. moniliforme var. subglutinans and Sclerotium rolfsii were isolated from straw/stover of paddy, jowar, wheat, maize and maize cob which are used as substrate materials for the cultivation of Oyster mushroom. No antagonistic reaction occurred between pleurotus sajor-caju and the weed fungi but some weed fungi restricted its growth to some extent. Out of four fungicides taken, Benomyl 50 ppm, checked the growth of all weed fungi followed by Carbendazim + Blitox 100 ppm each and enchanced production of P. sajor-caju.
