Correlation between the head shaking test the test for the detection of nystagmus of cervical origin and caloric tests

Correlation between the head shaking test the test for the detection of nystagmus of cervical origin and caloric tests

Revue d'Oto-Neuro-Ophtalmologie 53(1): 25-28

Three types of vestibular tests, the head shaking test (HST), the detection of nystagmus or cervical origin and caloric tests, were compared in vertigo sufferers. A positive HST was significantly correlated with caloric tests which shows the complementary value of these 2 tests. There was no correlation between HST and nystagmus of cervical origin, which shows the specific value of the latter test.
