A cytogenetic examination of 11 persons who worked at the experimental greenhouse was carried out before and after their short-term occupational contact with the insecticide pirimor (pirimicarb). Pirimor significantly increase the average frequency of chromosome aberrations in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of the examined workers. Individual sensitivity to a cytogenetic action of pirimor in vivo and in vitro was analyzed before and after contact with it. A conclusion is made on pirimor as a potential mutagenic hazard for human beings.
