Sixty kinds of chemical agents, including medical drugs, food additives, cosmetic ingredients and pesticides were tested for their mutagenic activities by elevated frequencies of chromosome breakage sister chromatid exchanges and/or micronuclei in cultured human and/or Chinese hamster cells after exposure to agents. Among them, at least 24 compounds were estimated as potential mutagens.
