Using 3H-thymidine autoradiography, it was shown that the proliferative pool of the bone marrow granulocytes of rat constituted 100%. The cell transit through the portion of the dividing maturing neutrophils took about 97 h. During maturation myeloblasts divide 4.2 times, promyelocytes, 2 times and myelocytes 1.2 times. The influx into the portion of dividing maturing granulocytes constituted 0.07 .times. 106 cells/h per 100 g of rat wt, but the escape from this portion constitutes 11.8 .times. 106 cells/h per 100 g of the animal wt.
