Cyto taxonomic investigations regarding 2 endemic species in romanian flora

The observations made on 2 spp. of endemic plants belonging to the family Ranunculaceae, Hepatica transsilvanica Fuss. and Aconitum lasianthum (Rchb) Simk., were presented. The 2 spp. were analyzed in some populations in Bucegi and Piatra Craiului massifs. H. transsilvanica Fuss. has a diploid set of chromosomes (2n = 16) among which 4 pairs are metacentrical (1, 4, 6, 7) and 4 pairs submetacentrical (2, 3, 5, 8). The pairs 1, 2, 4 and 5 have satellites. The karyotype of the species, H. Fuss., was made and analyzed for the 1st time. A. lasianthum (Rchb.) Simk has the chromosomal complement of 2n = 16. The pairs of chromosomes 1 and 5 are metacentrical, 1, 2, 6, 8 are submetacentrical and 3, 4, 7 acrocentrical. The analysis of morphotaxonomical statistically checked and karyological characters supports the ascription of this taxon as an independent species, endemic for the Romanian Carpathians.
