Description of new species of sharks of the family squalidae squaliformes from the northwestern part of the pacific ocean with remarks of validity of etmopterus frontimaculatus

Zoologicheskii Zhurnal 65(1): 149-153

Etmopterus schmidti sp. n. (from Sagami Sea, Pacific sea-coast of Japan) and Centroscyllium sheikoi sp. n. (from Kyushu-Palau Ridge at the depth of 360 m) are described. Differences between the new species and other members of their genera are given. Validity of E. frontimaculatus Pietschmann considered earlier as a junior synonym of E. pusillus (Lowe) is shown on the basis of examination of many specimens.
