Determination of penta methyl melamine and hexa methyl melamine in plasma and urine by nitrogen phosphorus gas liquid chromatography

Pentamethylmelamine (PMM) is a water-soluble analog of the antitumor agent, hexamethylmelamine (HMM). With a sensitive and specific assay, one can detect significant quantities of parent drug in plasma following administration of PMM to humans. In addition, PMM is extensively metabolized, probably by the liver, and these metabolites can be detected in plasma and urine. Pharmacokinetic and metabolic studies of PMM in man and animals are being conducted.
