With the aid of a scanning electron microscope, differences in the density of dorsal integumentary lobes on 2 spp. of spider mites, T. urticae Koch and T. cinnabarinus (Boisduval) were significant. Lobes per 10 .mu. along an integumentary fold avaraged 6.44 (SE = 0.85, n = 30) for T. urticae and 7.47 (SE = 0.81, n = 30) for T. cinnabarinus.
