H. orientalis from the intestine of Pellona elongata (Day); H. stunkardi from the intestine of Acanthurus sandvicensis (Street); H. otolithi from the intestine of Otolith ruber (Bl. Schn.) and H. indica from the intestine of Mugil waigiensis (Quoy et Gaim) from Bay of Bengal, at Puri, Orissa are described. Laruea Srivastava, 1939 is considered a synonym of Haplosplanchnus Looss, 1902. A key to the species of the genus is given.
