Digestibility of the crude protein crude fat basic amino acids and sulfur containing amino acids of poultry waste meal in fattening pigs

Digestibility of the crude protein crude fat basic amino acids and sulfur containing amino acids of poultry waste meal in fattening pigs

Archiv fuer Tierernaehrung 31(7-8): 549-556

The digestibility of the crude nutrients, the basic and sulfur containing amino acids of dried poultry waste meal and of the basic ration and nitrogen balance were compared according to the difference method with 2 groups of 4 fattening pigs each. The apparent digestibility of the basic ration amounts of 63.0% crude protein, 56.2% lysine, 79.6% histidine, 78.6% arginine, 64.4% methionine and 77.3% cystine. The apparent digestibility of the nutrients of the poultry waste meal was 76.9, 79.6, 88.5, 88.2, 79.3 and 80.1%, respectively. The N-balance increased by supplementing the basic ration with poultry waste meal by 3.9-23.7 g/animal per day.
