Dynamics of chlortetracycline in actinomyces aureofaciens 633

The process of chlorotetracycline synthesis by A. [Streptomyces] aureofaciens 633 is of 2-phase character. In transition of the antibiotic biosynthesis to the second phase, the culture fluid contains total reducing substances (2.2-2.3%), nitrogen (0.1%), phosphorus (25 .mu.g/ml), pH about 6.2-6.3. Equations describing the process of antibiotic synthesis, consumption of reducing substances, phosphorus and nitrogen are obtained on the basis of experimental data. These relations, specific for each production, may be used for controlling and optimizing the sequence of operations.
