Ecological and sylvan behavior of common oak quercus robur and sessile oak quercus petraea in the canton of geneva switzerland consequences on the choice of tree species for the improvement of the geneva oak grove

Saussurea (12): 91-116

Phytosociological and dendrometric studies on 46 sample plots distributed in the Querco-Carpinetum aretosum genevense and Querco-Carpinetum molinietosum of the woods of Versoix, Allondon and Jussy suggest differences of distribution, production and quality between Q. robur and Q. petreae in the canton of Geneva. A choice of tree species is suggested for the improvement and regeneration of each oak-grove type.
