Effect of abscisic acid and kinetin on growth and proline accumulation in cacao theobroma cacao seedlings under water stress/

Effect of abscisic acid and kinetin on growth and proline accumulation in cacao theobroma cacao seedlings under water stress/

Indian Journal of Plant Physiology 26(2): 139-142

The effect of exogenous ABA [abscisic acid] and kinetin applications on leaf expansion rate and proline contents was studied. The leaf growth was retarded during stress by ABA but recovery was faster after rewatering. Leaf turgidity was also maintained by ABA and proline accumulation was less as compared to controls, showing lack of relation between RWC [relative water content] and proline content. The effect of kinetin on these indicators was similar to those of controls.
