In a pot experiment, application of calcium carbonate @ 10% significantly increased the pod yield of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea Linn.), but beyond 10% level there was an adverse effect on the yield. Boron application @ 2.0 ppm produced maximum number of mature pods (67.7), shelling percentage (77.3), minimum number of pops (11.3) and highest pod yield (67.9 g/pot). In general, the adverse effect of increasing levels of CaCO3 from 3.5 to 30% on flower count and peg; shelling and pop percentage was mitigated by corresponding increase in boron from 0.25 to 2.00 ppm.
