Abstract
Effect of cycocel on growth, yield and quality of potato was studied at Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar [India], during 1977-1979. With increasing concentration of cycocel and frequencies of spraying, height and fresh weight of the plants were reduced significantly. Application of cycocel increased the yield and percentage of large size tubers, which was more pronounced under 500 ppm cycocel sprayed at 50 days after planting. Cycocel application also improved the protein content, ascorbic acid and specific gravity of potato tubers.
