Cycocel treatment reduced the height total number of tillers, number of effective tillers per plant and the length of the ear in 'Sonalika' wheat. The plants treated with 500 ppm cycocel were the shortest with the shortest ears; however, 1250 ppm cycocel produced the lowest number of total tillers per plant and 750 ppm produced the lowest number of effective tillers per plant. Cycocel at 1000 ppm produced the highest 1000-grain weight, which was significant. No significant effect of cycocel was found in the number of grains per ear.
