Effect of fertilization and row spacing on nutrition and grain yield of soybean cultivars santa rosa iac 1 and iac 2

The spacing between rows were 40, 60 and 80 cm, corresponding to a population of 500,000, 333,333 and 250,000 plants/ha, respectively. Liming increased the availability of soil P at some localities, K at all localities. There was response to fertilization only at Ribeirao Preto [Brazil) for Santa Rosa. There was no significant interaction between cultivars and spacing. In soils of medium and high fertility the indeterminate cultivars "IAC-1" and "IAC-2" should not be planted because of lodging.
