Effect of fertilization and spacing on seed production of radish raphanus sativus

Experiments with 3 N levels ( 30, 50 and 70 kg/ha), 3 P levels (0, 25 and 50 kg/ha) and 3 plant spacings (45 .times. 45, 60 .times. 60 and 75 .times. 75 cm) were conducted for 2 yr from 1971-72 to 1972-73 at the Vegetable Research Station of Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar (India) on sandy-loam soils. The application of 50 kg P/ha with 45 .times. 45 cm plant spacing resulted in maximum seed yield. The germination was improved by higher doses of N + P. The vigor was not affected by any of these treatments.
