Effect of fertilizer application on the protein content and amino acid composition of wheat triticum aestivum

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of different levels of nitrogen fertilization on the yield, protein and amino acids composition of wheat grain. Nitrogen fertilization up to 100 kg nitrogen per hectare had beneficial effects on grain yield, protein and amino acid content. However, higher levels of nitrogen fertilization had adverse effect. Except lysine, all amino acids were positively correlated with protein.
