Effect of fertilizer on autumn sown mustard

Effect of fertilizer on autumn sown mustard

Pakistan Journal of Agricultural Research 7(1): 37-40

To find out the effect of fertilizer on seed yield, oil content, erucic acid and glucosinolates in autumn sown mustard, studies were conducted at the Oilseeds Research Institute, Faisalabad. Eight fertilizer treatments were used. Highest seed yield was obtained when equal amounts of NP (100:100) were applied. This dose also exhibited highest plants, maximum number of branches, maximum number of pods/plant and 1000-seed weight. However, the fertilizer application did not effect erucic acid or glucosinolate content in the oil, but the increase in N lowered the oil content.
