Effect of fertilizers on macleaya crop yield and alkaloid content under conditions of a vegetative experiment

Results are presented of a 3-yr vegetative experiment to study the effect of dose and ratio of N, P and K on yield of Macleaya, growth of leaf surface, chlorophyll content in leaves and alkaloid accumulation in the aboveground mass. An increased level of N, especially NP, stimulated alkaloid synthesis in the above ground mass and increased the alkaloid yield during seed propagation in the 1st and 2nd yr of vegetation.
