Effect of filter on specific tritium labeled 5 hydroxy tryptamine binding to synaptic membranes

Hiroshima Journal of Medical Sciences 31(2): 129-132
Effect of filter on specific tritium labeled 5 hydroxy tryptamine binding to synaptic membranes
Examinations of specific [3H]-5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptor binding assay were performed [on rat brains]. The most adequate incubation condition for [3H]-5-HT binding assay was as 0.degree. C for 10-30 min. Scatchard plot of [3H]-5-HT binding using a Millpore filter and a Glass filter drew biphasic and monophasic, respectively. The filter affect a specific [3H]-5-HT binding. The characteristics of the filter should be taken into consideration in [3H]-5-HT binding assay.
