Effect of foliar applications of chelated iron zinc and manganese on leaf mineral content yield and fruit quality of roumi red grapevines vitis vinifera

Spraying Roumi red grape-vines with chelated Mn either alone or in combination with Fe and Zn, significantly increased Fe concentration in leaf petioles as compared with the control. All foliar spray treatments including Zn treatment had no appreciable effect on Zn level in the petioles of leaves. The only treatment that significantly increased Mn content in petioles was Mn spray treatment. None of the foliar spray treatments affected levels of B, Mo, P, Mg and Na in leaf petioles. The levels of Cu, N, K and Ca in leaf petioles were significantly increased by some foliar treatments i.e. Cu was increased by using Zn or Mn, N and K by Fe + Zn + Mn treatment and Ca by Fe or Mn foliar sprays in the second season only. All treated vines showed tendency of increase in yield and fruit quality as compared with the control, but, no significant differences were detected among treatments. No doubt, the addition of farmyard manure to the vines improved the nutrients supply in the soil; hence, provided the vines with most of their mineral requirements especially the micronutrients ones, therefore the leaves of the control vines contained normal levels of all nutrients.
