The effect of specific inhibitors (antimycin A, amytal, p-chloromercuribenzoate, o-phenanthroline, CO) on the activity of hydrogenase was studied in A. chroococcum. The action of the hydrogenase is manifested in the electron transport chain between NAD and cytochrome b. The active site of the hydrogenase contains sulfydryl groups and non-heme Fe.
