Effect of inoculation time of isariopsis griseola on 3 bean cultivars

Three bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), cultivars, 'Caraota', 'Rico 23' and 'Venezuela', 30, 45, 60 and 75 days old, were inoculated with I. griseola Sacc. Periods of 30 and 45 days were most critical for the occurrence of an epiphytotic, affecting pod production, number of bean seeds per pod and vegetative aspect of the whole plant. The seed wt was affected in plants inoculated at the 60th day due to leaf drop during ripening. The plants inoculated at the age of 75 days did not show any considerable damage. The assay also confirmed the resistance of the cultivar Caraota to the pathogen.
