Effect of mixed liquor suspended solids concentration on the bio degradation of nitrilo tri acetic acid in the activated sludge process

Effect of mixed liquor suspended solids concentration on the bio degradation of nitrilo tri acetic acid in the activated sludge process

Chemosphere 10(9): 1005-1010

The biodegradation of nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA, a detergent builder) in laboratory simulations of the activated sludge process was studied at 2 different concentrations of mixed liquor suspended solids. Responses to changes in the influent NTA concentration such as those which might be associated with a wash day were examined.
