Effect of moderate hypoxia on the working capacity of an operator depending on his individual features
The effect of individual features (morphofunctional and personality) on the working capacity and reliability of an operator was studied in an experiment with 50 men, aged 23-28. Moderate altitude hypoxia, 1 h long, caused tachycardia, decreased oxygen saturation of the blood and decreased physical and mental working capacity in some subjects. Before exposure to hypoxia, people resistant to short-term moderate hypoxia had longer cardiocycles, higher oxygen saturation of the blood and lower indices of arterial pressure, compared to unstable people, which may be determined by the fact that the basal metabolism level in stable individuals was lower than in unstable individuals. A negative correlation was established between the emotional lability, anxiety and the working capacity of an individual before exposure to hypoxia.
