The productivity of the potato had a close relation to the moisture capacity of the Ap horizon. The dependence of potato tuber yields on hydrothermal conditions of soils and weather is expressed by an equation of regression of the y = a + b .cntdot. lg x type. The efficiency of nutrients in the Ap horizon, calculated in volume-weight units (kg/ha), may serve as an evaluating criterion in the comparison of different soil fertilities and the productivity of plants.
