Abstract
Cows between the ages of 4-10 yr were given either an increase or a decrease in nutrients and digestible proteins for a period of 1 mo. Protein-bound I in milk was also studied during this period. Increases in nutrients and proteins in feed resulted in corresponding increases in protein-bound I in milk. Decreases, accompanied by the restriction of physical activity, resulted in a reduction in I levels. Digestible protein intake was considered the main factor affecting protein-bound I levels.
