Effects of different levels of effluent on the production of dry matter and nutritive value in cultivar cameroun pennisetum purpureum schum

Effects of different levels of effluent on the production of dry matter and nutritive value in cultivar cameroun pennisetum purpureum schum

Arquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinaria e Zootecnia 39(3): 461-470

The application of an effluent, at the levels of zero m3, 150 m3, and 300 m3/ha, on cultivar cameroun (Pennisetum purpureum) was studied in vitro, aiming to evaluate the production of dry matter, mineral contents, and nutritive value. The effluent caused a significant increase in the dry matter production, detected throughout the experiment. The levels of total protein, calcium, potassium, and digestibility of the dry matter were increased too, during the winter season. Nevertheless, effects of the effluent on these items could not be detected during the other seasons.
