Effects of reflected sun light on germination and post germination of seeds of helianthus annuus

Indian Journal of Botany 6(2): 160-161

Healthy seeds of H. annuus were exposed to midday sunlight reflected from a mirror for 2 h. Seeds gave good response to the treatment showing 90% germination against 53% in controls (exposed to normal radiated sunlight). Starting of germination in treated seeds was delayed. Root growth, seedling height, size and color of mature leaf were all affected by the treatment.
