Effects of water temperature light intensity and photoperiod on the growth and maturation of the gametophyte of eisenia bicyclis

Effects of water temperature light intensity and photoperiod on the growth and maturation of the gametophyte of eisenia bicyclis

Bulletin of Tohoku National Fisheries Research Institute (45): 55-60

The influences of water temperature, light intensity and photoperiod on the growth and maturation of the gametophyte of E. bicyclis. The gametophyte grows in water temperatures between 8.degree. and 24.degree. C and matures in water temperatures between 8.degree. and 20.degree. C. The optimum range of water temperature for maturation of the gametophyte is between 16.degree. and 20.degree. C. The gametophyte rapidly grows but does not mature at a temperature of 24.degree. C. The optimum light intensity for growth and maturation of the gametophyte is between 2000 and 5000 lx. The gametophyte grows rapidly in light time of 16 and 12 h but grows slowly in light time of 8 h.
